leave a comment »

Nowadays, Google is considered one of the most widely-known labesl on the Internet and this was confirmed by a lot surveys done by the survey companies. Due to its popularity, a lot of net users are oftentimes discussing  it as if it’s a person. But have you ever asked yourselves of what does Google mean?

According to one of the most widely-used online resources, Google means a label used for an online search engine. This brand always seen in print as a verb, from time to time in lowercase.

The name started as a move to elevate the capacity of information the search engine could search for. It was first named ‘Googol’, a word for the number represented by 1 followed by 100 zeros.

It is a really large value. As a matter of fact, there is no googol of something in the created universe. Google’s choice of the word replicates Google’s mission to reorder the world’s vast amount of data and make it entirely available and useful.

Since it is a company name, Google is a noun. However, it broadens and eventually to become a verb as numerous users refer to the act of doing their research in the Internet as “googling”.

It’s Official! I’m a Google Fan!

When I first started using the Internet, I only use Internet Explorer. I’m admit I was such a newbie on internet surfing.

I remember creating my own email add and chatting with friends using my YM account, even long before social networking sites start to exist.

Before I finish my grade school, my tutor assigned to our whole class an assignment on various foreign inventors and their works. We were assigned to compile them through a portfolio, but since I found it hard doing my research in our school library, I’ve decided to research it on the net.

I opened google.xom and started working on my assignment. Good thing Google displayed to me a lot of foreign scientists to choose from, after that, I relied to Google until I’m done working on my research.

Surprisingly, I was able to finish it just in a day. I’m very thankful to Google for their reliable search results. Since then, I became a Google fanatic and never dared to try out another search engine aside from it.

Yoga Ebooks for You

leave a comment »

I am very preoccupied with this yoga.

Because of my busy lifestyle and full schedule, I don’t have the time to visit the gym or attend a fitness class anymore. I would like to join a yoga but learning the basic exercises would be a pain in the head and especially a pain to my wallet. That’s why I decide to I purchase online some yoga ebooks and practice it in our home during my free time.

My problem with the yoga ebooks is that I’m not keen with reading especially when were talking about huge variety of movements. Geez, I think I really need a yoga teacher or a person who will explain the movements to me, another idea popped in mind – why not go for yoga videos!

So, I instantly went in front of my old laptop direct my browser to YouTube and Voila! my problem was solved!

However I think what is nice about yoga is not how you perform the movements but how you create a channel that will get you away from your toxic way of life. We are very occupied that oftentimes we don’t help ourselves to promote our lifestyles.

Yoga is also about meeting people and knowing how to be “really” independent, not just in mind but also free from the stressful times of our hectic life. That’s what I’ve learned out of my curiosity.

The ‘Google Pagsasalin’ or Google Translate in Filipino

leave a comment »

Google is known for providing their products’ interfaces in different languages. This is especially beneficial to people who are not comfortable using the Google products on English interface language.

I actually speak two languages, and understood a dialect. My first language is Filipino and second language is English. I am used to browsing online webpages in English, in fact if it is in Filipino, I kinda find it awkward.

I appreciate Google’s initiative to reach out everyone by translating their pages to different languages, and providing a free online translation tool called Google Translate. In Filipino, this is called ‘Google Pagsasalin’.

Okay, okay… I may not be patriotic but I really find the translated product name awkward. Well, that’s the accurate translation anyway of Translate, I may just not be used to it.

If you want to check out the link of Google Translator to your native language, find the link at Use ‘Google Translate’ Interface in Your Language.

Watching Car Commercials

leave a comment »

I am fond of watching car commercials lately. I just felt that the car commercials I watched are pretty creative. These car commercials are not the usual commercials where you see each car feature are focused on a snapshot just to make sure how wonderful the car is. In my opionion, this type of commercials are losing the audience.

Here are four creative car commercials I found through TVAdsView.com. I think they are amazing, and want to see more of this in our local channels.

Toyota Commercial - A very inviting ad. It tells the viewers that they will surely feel safe when driving the car because each of its feature are made with special care.

Honda Commercial - Rubrik cubes, large puzzle pieces, an interesting game, and a Honda car also  made of large puzzles. All of these are what will you see in this ad telling viewers that when you enjoy to solve things every problem is a playground.

Audio Commercial – For me, the message of this commercial is that every part of a Nuevo Audi A4 is well thought to make sure it will run effeciently. The background music allows me to focus on how these Audi employees tries to make a model of the Audi car using strings.

Music Kia Commercial – One of the funnest ways to play musical chairs is playing it driving our own cars in a large car park. In such game, we’ll know which cars do the best.

How to get other emails in one account

leave a comment »

Are you one of those people who uses different email addresses for different reasons. For example, Email A is your personal email which your friends use to contact you, while Email B is your working email, which you use for job hunting, talking to your bosses or co-workers. You might also have another email which you use for shopping online, or for signing up in social networking accounts.

Now, with all those email accounts you got, do you really need to log in to each of them? Well, no. If all of these email addresses are in Gmail, then you can get mails from other accounts you have.

Super Bowl 2009 Commercials

leave a comment »

What commercials do we have for Super Bowl this year? We had a lot of craps though, and only a few stood out.

We still had the E*Trade talking baby, but he had someone else this year, his pal who turned out to be an E*Trade singing baby. Another talk of this year’s big game is the one-second ad from Miller beer. Their slogan High Life, for me, sounded like Bud Light.

And another of my favorite is Hyundai’s angry bosses commercial that was very intriguing since the bosses were supposed to be the bosses of Hyundai’s competitor.

What ads this year stuck in your mind? Do you have a favorite?

When the internet came out, a new revolution came in to the picture. Almost everything can be done online even when it comes to direction and location.

Navigating an actual location is easier now with Google directions. Yes, Google maps and directions offer a savvy way of locating a certain place. It is an extensive website that contains a comprehensive collection of map images and details.

The free Google Maps is easy to use. One can even link it to a personal web space to showcase a specific place anywhere in the world. It is under the Google world maps wherein people from a different location can view the detailed map of another country.

One great feature that this site offers is the walking directions, that will show you how long it will take to go to a certain place by just walking. This feature is still in beta and similar to what Google Maps Pedometer does.
